Leontiel’s Greatsword is a new weapon introduced in the Elden Ring Tarnished Pack. It features a unique Ash of War called Muleta, which allows for counter-maneuvers and mobility.
How to Obtain Leontiel’s Greatsword
- Defeat Starscourge Radahn: The NPC invader will not appear until you have cleared this boss fight.
- Locate Knight Leontiel: Travel to the area northwest of the Starscourge Radahn arena in Caelid.
- Defeat the Invader: Engage and kill Knight Leontiel. Upon victory, you will receive both the weapon and his matching armor set.
If you have access to ranged attacks or magic, you can damage the invader before he closes the distance to engage in melee combat.
Using the Muleta Ash of War
The Muleta Ash of War provides a stance that allows you to dodge and counter with hyper armor. It is compatible with Rellana’s Cameo, a talisman that increases damage after holding a stance.
- Light Attack Input: Performs a sidestep followed by a swipe.
- Heavy Attack Input: Executes a further-reaching, higher-damage strike. This can be charged for additional impact.
- Double Heavy Input: Chains into a strong upward thrust, similar to the Giant’s Hunt Ash of War.
Note that each maneuver has recovery frames, and the weapon is unique, meaning you cannot change its damage affinity or apply a different Ash of War. It requires Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade to its maximum level of +10.
