Publisher Bethesda Softworks and developers id Software and Nightdive Studios have released a new update for the remaster of Quake. The update introduces the free Dawn of the Machine expansion, created by MachineGames.

Expansion Details and Story
Developed to celebrate Quake's 30th anniversary, Dawn of the Machine follows MachineGames' previous work on Dimension of the Machine and Dimension of the Past. The episode features combat, labyrinthine level design, and environments set in Elder realms.
In the expansion's premise, Ranger is trapped in a dimension of illusion, repeating violent cycles and dying thousands of times. Players must navigate past twisted monsters to reach The Nightmare Machine, which must be destroyed to shatter the illusion and break the loop.
