Publisher Balor Games and developers Chuhai Labs and VITEI Backroom have announced that the arcade-style on-rails shooter Wild Blue Skies will arrive on the Nintendo Switch this fall.

Wild Blue Skies is a modern take on 1990s-style on-rails adventures. Players control a squad of four pilots known as the Blue Bombers—Bowie, Thorne, Chuck, and Roe—as they navigate various environments including oceans, deserts, and caves. The gameplay loop centers on battling waves of enemies and pushing back the forces of the antagonist, Grimclaw.
The title is designed to be accessible to newcomers while providing depth for veterans through branching mission paths and hidden secrets. The developers note that the campaign is structured to encourage replayability, as players attempt to master flight mechanics, earn medals, and uncover different routes through the hand-crafted, anime-style universe.
