Developer Digital Run is making the original Moonlighter completely free on Steam for a short window leading up to the release of its follow-up. PC players can claim the action-RPG at no cost starting August 5, 2026.

For those unfamiliar with the hybrid gameplay loop, Moonlighter splits its time between daytime shop management in a local village and nighttime dungeon crawling for loot. This dual structure offers a distinct shift from traditional roguelikes, letting players fall back on running their shop after a difficult dungeon run.
