Developer Eclipse Glow Games has provided a new look at Tides of Annihilation, an upcoming action game for PlayStation 5. During a recent media event in Chengdu, the studio showcased two hours of gameplay, highlighting the title's unique setting and combat mechanics.
Setting and Gameplay Features
The game takes place in an alternate-reality version of London, where familiar landmarks like the British Museum are reimagined—in this case, as the “Great Russell Museum.” The environmental design draws heavily from real-world London architecture, including local tube station designs.
Combat centers on a specific gimmick: the protagonist’s ability to summon knights from Arthurian legend. These summons function similarly to “stands” found in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, allowing for a character-focused action experience.
Studio Rebranding
While the project has been associated with the name Eclipse Glow Games since its initial announcement, the studio is currently in the process of a name change. Internal signage and branding at the studio’s headquarters still feature the name Ophiuchus Studio, a reference to the 13th sign of the zodiac.
