Players wanting an early look can access the active Steam playtest running from August 27 through September 3. The test provides access to core mechanics, new heroes, decks, and party builds so the development team can gather feedback ahead of the October launch. Fans attending Gamescom can also play the game at the Indie Castle booth located inside the Indie Area in Hall 10.2.
Three Heroes, Three Decks
Unlike traditional solo deckbuilders, Rogue Reigns puts you in control of a party of three heroes simultaneously during every run. Each hero maintains a distinct deck, specific role, and set of skills that link together with the rest of the team. Team composition carries significant weight since rewards are limited and procedural 3D worlds feature changing encounters.
Adding extra pressure during runs is a threat known as the Stalker, which actively hunts your party across the map. Venn Studios plans to include over ten different party setups at launch, offering multiple ways to construct and balance team synergies.
