Release Date and Pre-registration

NetEase has confirmed that Ananta will officially launch on January 15, 2027. The game will be available on PC, PS5, and mobile devices. PC players can access the title through Steam or a dedicated game launcher.

Pre-registration is currently active on the official Ananta website. Signing up grants access to launch rewards, which currently include in-game currencies and a character outfit. While it is standard for live-service games to provide these rewards to all players at launch regardless of registration status, the developer has yet to confirm if these bonuses will be exclusive to those who sign up early.

Gameplay and World Design

Ananta is an urban open-world RPG that blends exploration with combat. The game features two primary locations: the Tokyo-inspired Nova City and the Hangzhou-inspired Chongxiao. Players control a protagonist known as the "Captain" and can swap between various characters to utilize unique skills and traversal methods.

The gameplay incorporates a wide range of movement and combat mechanics, including:

  • Traversal: Swinging through city skylines, driving, boating, gliding, and swimming.
  • Combat: A mix of melee combat (swords, bats, tennis rackets) and ranged options, including firearms and character-specific abilities like ice yo-yos or paint-based weaponry.
  • Activities: Open-world tasks such as racing, dating, arcade mini-games, gym sessions, and home customization.

Character and Progression Systems

There are 16 characters confirmed for the game, including Aileen, Alan, Bansy, Dila, Lykaia, Mechanika, Mimiko, Richie, Ringo, Seymour, Shi Ye, Taffy, and Wei Yinglong. Each character features their own individual storyline.

Unlike many other open-world titles, Ananta does not utilize a gacha system to obtain characters. Instead, the full roster is earned through gameplay. While the game will be a live-service title, monetization is currently restricted to cosmetics, vehicles, and housing items. Whether these items will be sold directly or through a separate cosmetic gacha system remains unconfirmed by the developers.
