Tarsier Studios has deployed a new update for REANIMAL on PC, focusing on technical stability and display improvements following the release of The Prisoner DLC. The patch targets several high-priority issues that previously impacted player progression and game stability.

Confirmed Changes and Fixes

The update introduces a series of technical refinements aimed at smoothing out the user experience:

  • Stability Improvements: Resolved crashes on boot for DX12 users and fixed black screen issues specifically affecting DX11 players.
  • Softlock Resolution: Fixed an error where players could become stuck in the air after jumping down the hatch in the mall area.
  • HDR Enhancements: Added support for HDR10+ and improved color and contrast settings.
  • DLSS Adjustments: Improved overall DLSS quality and corrected a UI display error that showed incorrect settings.

Player Impact and Known Issues

PC players should note that while the most critical softlocks have been addressed, one specific issue remains: in the mall, climbing on boxes a second time after picking up the camera can cause the game camera to lock. If this occurs, players must restart from their last checkpoint to regain control.

Additionally, those utilizing cross-platform features should be aware that crossplay with the Nintendo Switch 2 is temporarily disabled. The developers have confirmed this feature will return as soon as the update is pushed to the Switch 2 platform.
