Gameplay and Mode Updates
The title introduces a Dynamic Layup Engine and expanded dribbling customization to influence offensive spacing. Defensively, the developers have overhauled the shot contest system and introduced a new collision system intended to increase the impact of physical play.
MyCAREER expands with the addition of five playable eras, ranging from the 1984 Magic vs. Bird era to the 2016 Steph era. The mode also includes "Fire & Concrete," an 11-chapter cinematic story starring Vince Staples, and a new co-op feature that allows friends to participate in the career progression.
Franchise and Collection Changes
For players focused on management, MyNBA introduces a 100-year "Legacy" mode that allows users to operate as both a front-office executive and a player simultaneously. The mode also features a new GM Trust system and updated CBA contract negotiations.
MyTEAM progression has been adjusted to allow any Player Card to be used in The Exchange. A new Player XP system enables individual cards to level up, and the mode features a unified Auction House and new Player Card Parallels.
Companion App and Connectivity
The NBA 2K HQ companion app, which went live on August 21, provides tools for editing MyPLAYER builds and sharing them via QR codes. It also serves as a hub for real-time messaging, league leaderboards, and managing Crew activities, allowing players to interact with the game's social features while away from their console.
