Four years after its initial announcement, Square Enix has given players a release window for Kingdom Hearts 4. During Disney's D23 fan event, the publisher revealed that the anticipated sequel will arrive in late 2027.

The release window announcement came alongside a new trailer showing Sora exploring fresh locations. Kingdom Hearts 4 will officially kick off a brand-new storyline titled the Lost Master Arc. While the game's primary setting is Quadratum, the latest footage confirmed a visit to Coco's colorful land of the dead.
The trailer also showcased Sora fighting enemies within a concert crowd and utilizing sky rails, while characters Mickey, Goofy, and Hades attempt to track down Sora following his disappearance at the conclusion of Kingdom Hearts 3.
Development Updates and Franchise Milestone
Aside from a brief glimpse in June, Square Enix maintained radio silence regarding Kingdom Hearts 4 since it was first announced in 2022. Series director Tetsuya Nomura previously reassured fans that production remained on track. Disney recently highlighted the strength of the property, confirming that Kingdom Hearts now ranks among the company's billion-dollar franchises.
