AMATA Games has confirmed that Changeable Guardian ESTIQUE, a side-scrolling robot shoot ’em up developed by Cat Hui Trading LLC, will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC on August 6, 2026. The PC version will be available through both Steam and the Microsoft Store.
Gameplay and Features
Originally released in 2024 for Famicom and NES, this modern port brings the 8-bit shooter to current-generation hardware. The game centers on the "Estique" robot, which players can transform between a "Fighter Form" for a smaller hitbox and a "Robot Form" that nullifies terrain damage. Strategy involves switching between these forms and utilizing two distinct equipment types to navigate six stages themed after global cities.
Key Inclusions
- Dual Versions: The package includes both the Nintendo Entertainment System and Famicom versions, complete with their respective story and graphical variations.
- Accessibility Options: New features include quick save and load, a rewind function, and a CRT filter to simulate vintage television displays.
- Gallery Mode: Access to archived instruction manuals, box art, and cartridge visuals.
- Controller Support: Native support for modern controllers across all platforms.
The game features a regenerative life system and removes traditional power-ups, aiming for a balance that accommodates both beginners and experienced shoot 'em up players. The scoring system relies on a "Super Weapon" special attack, triggered by rapid-firing the shot button.
