If you've been looking for a reason to jump back into the chaotic arena shooter Brotato, developer and publisher Blobfish has some news for you. Following the release of their previous update, All Pain No Gain, the team has officially confirmed they are hard at work on the next expansion: Primal Dread.

The announcement arrived alongside a brief teaser trailer, offering players a first look at what’s in store. The footage highlights a new dinosaur enemy type, giving us a taste of the prehistoric-themed challenges we can expect when the DLC arrives. To set the mood, the teaser also features a new track from Brotato composer Adonai.

What We Know About Primal Dread

Blobfish hasn't shared a comprehensive list of features just yet, noting that the content is not quite ready for a full reveal. However, the team confirmed they are closing in on a functional playtest build. They’ve promised to keep the community updated on progress throughout the coming month.

For those unfamiliar, Brotato tasks players with surviving waves of enemies as a potato character equipped with various weapons, items, and upgrades. Each character brings distinct strengths and weaknesses, a formula that Primal Dread looks set to expand upon with its new additions.
