I’ve spent over 300 hours micromanaging tiny pixel heroes at the bottom of my screen in Task Bar Hero. If you’re like me and suffer from a 'number must go up' brain, you’ve likely realized that optimizing your team is the only way to survive the game's four difficulty modes. After hitting the level 101 cap, I’ve put together this definitive tier list and strategy guide to help you dominate the current meta.
Task Bar Hero Class Tier List
While I’ve experimented with every class—including the paid DLC options—you don't need to spend money to build a top-tier squad. In fact, both of my top picks are completely free.
| Tier | Class |
|---|---|
| S | Ranger |
| A | Priest |
| B | Hunter, Sorcerer |
| C | Slayer |
| D | Knight |
The Breakdown:
- Ranger (S-Tier): The absolute star of the show. She is the best damage dealer and capable of clearing waves entirely on her own.
- Priest (A-Tier): Incredibly versatile. She fulfills both tank and healer roles with minimal investment.
- Hunter & Sorcerer (B-Tier): Solid picks. Use the Sorcerer for AoE-heavy DPS or swap the Hunter in if you get lucky gear drops.
- Slayer (C-Tier): A better alternative to the Knight if you need a tank, thanks to his 'Commander's Cry' party buffer.
- Knight (D-Tier): Avoid at all costs. He is painfully outclassed in harder content and is essentially deadweight in Torment difficulty.
Best Team Compositions
DPS is king in the current Task Bar Hero meta. Forget heavy armor investment; you want to kill enemies before they can overwhelm your sustain. If you’re struggling, prioritize attack speed for your Rangers and Hunters, or cast speed for your Sorcerer. Also, keep an eye on elemental resistance—try to hit that 75% cap on your tanks.
The Holy Trinity (Early to Mid-Game)
If you're still progressing through the mid-tier difficulties, stick to this three-man setup:
- Slayer: Acts as the tank. Use him for his 'Commander's Cry' buff.
- Priest: Keep her in the back. Focus on leveling her 'Blessing of Might' to boost your team's damage.
- Ranger: Your primary damage dealer. Funnel your upgrade materials here first.
The Solo Ranger (Endgame/Torment)
Once you hit Torment difficulty, the meta shifts. I found it significantly easier to farm stages like Torment 2-8 by sending the Ranger in alone. Adding extra allies often throws off her DPS by staggering enemy positions and HP bars. Since your allies will likely die quickly to mobs anyway, stripping the team down to just the Ranger ensures she has a clean line of sight and perfectly timed cooldowns. It's the most efficient way to farm until you have your endgame gear fully upgraded.
