Incident Details and Casualties
According to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to Hale Avenue near Miramonte Avenue at approximately 10:16 PM following reports of intoxicated individuals and bottles being thrown at cars. Upon arrival, officers found hundreds of attendees fleeing the area. Seven adults sustained gunshot wounds. One man, identified by his family as Desiderio Romero V (also known as Desi and Pepper), was pronounced dead at the scene. The six surviving victims were transported to local hospitals.
Investigators believe a handgun was used in the attack and have classified it as an isolated incident. As of July 27, no arrests had been announced, and authorities were actively reviewing video footage from the party to identify the shooter or shooters and determine a motive.
