To mark a decade since the sci-fi epic first launched on August 9, 2016, Hello Games founder Sean Murray has shared a message with Xbox players via the official Xbox Wire website.

Reflecting on the milestone, Murray noted the game's origins as a small four-person project before expanding significantly over the past ten years. No Man's Sky has added almost 40 major free updates during that span, introducing features such as base building, pets, mechs, living ships, expeditions, settlements, exocraft, and multiple world overhauls.

"After 10 years and almost 40 major free updates, the No Man’s Sky sandbox has grown exponentially... As long as the team are having fun conjuring up ever-crazier additions they want to add to the game, and as long as there is a passionate and positive community enjoying what they make, I’d love for this journey to continue," Murray stated.
