Gameplay and Environment
Following the established formula of previous entries in the series, Aery – Surreal World prioritizes a non-combative experience. Players navigate through dreamlike environments without the pressure of enemies or time constraints. The primary gameplay loop involves flying through these landscapes to collect glowing memory fragments, which in turn unlock subsequent areas to explore.
As the title suggests, the environments in this installment feature more abstract and unusual settings compared to previous games. Confirmed locations include skies filled with whales and rainbows, as well as an apartment block submerged on the ocean floor where fish swim through interior rooms. Other areas feature gold-transformed kingdoms, intended to provide a distinct atmosphere as players uncover the game's narrative fragments.
