Visual and Technical Upgrades
Developed by Glinda Games and published by Home Entertainment Suppliers, the remaster arrives just over a year after the original release. The updated version delivers 4K presentation, smoother 60 FPS gameplay, improved lighting, enhanced animations, and realistic hair physics.
On-pitch immersion is further aided by mud and sweat effects on players, alongside refreshed stadiums featuring updated grass, field damage, and wear and tear. Gameplay additions include ten dynamic set-play options—such as the cross-kick—coupled with improved AI positioning and team formations.
Game Modes and Content
While the game lacks official team licences, it features more than 12 competitions, Single Match, Multi-Team Competition, Be A Pro, and an extensive multi-year Career Mode. It also includes 16 international Men's and Women's Sevens teams, an enhanced Player Creator, and a Kit Creator.
For online play, up to eight players can compete in multiplayer matches. Additionally, the cross-platform FanHub returns, letting players share, download, and rate custom players and teams across supported platforms.
With the 2025 release no longer available to purchase on the Xbox Store, the £34.99 Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge 4 Remastered now serves as the primary version for rugby fans on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
