Nick Apostolides, the voice behind Leon S. Kennedy, has revealed a hilarious one-liner he pitched for Resident Evil Requiem that didn't make the final cut. During a recent podcast appearance with fellow actors Ben Starr and Alanah Pearce, Apostolides shared that he wanted to add a bit more of Leon’s signature '80s-action-flick corniness to the Titan Spinner boss fight in Raccoon City.

“When you fight the spider, I wanted to say — and we recorded it — ‘You know, you’ve been a real itsy-bitsy pain in my ass,’” Apostolides said during the discussion. He noted that the line was delivered in Leon’s trademark gruff, grizzled voice and that he considered it a potential “banger” for the character.

Quick Facts

  • Game: Resident Evil 9: Requiem
  • Release Date: February 27, 2026
  • Platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X

While the line received immediate positive feedback from his fellow podcast guests and fans on social media, Capcom opted for a different direction for the encounter. In the released version of Resident Evil Requiem, Leon instead quips, “You are a real pest, you know that?” and “I don’t have time for pest control,” during the heat of the battle.

Apostolides’ performance in Requiem has been widely noted for leaning into the same witty, action-hero persona that defined Leon in the Resident Evil 4 remake. Though the “itsy-bitsy” line didn't make the final cut, it remains a favorite among fans who have weighed in on the actor's reveal.

With Resident Evil Requiem now available, the franchise is looking toward its next major milestone. A remake of Code Veronica is currently slated for release in 2027. Additionally, fans have a film adaptation from director Zach Cregger to look forward to, which is scheduled to hit theaters this October.
