Throne and Liberty is receiving a major content expansion with the release of update 4.3.0. Scheduled for July 15 at 10:30 p.m. PT (5:30 a.m. UTC), the patch brings a new Battlegrounds mode, fresh guild raid encounters, and a sweeping set of balance changes across multiple weapon classes.

Quick Facts

  • New Battlegrounds: Seal Battle: Frostbite Fortress (12 vs 12 mode) is now available.
  • Guild Raids: Four new raids unlocked: Ascended Daigon, Leviathan, Pakilo Naru, and Manticus (requires Guild Level 30).
  • Dimensional Trials: Frostbreath Cave has been added to the rotation.
  • Economy Changes: Significant reductions in material requirements and Sollant fees for trait and resonance growth.

Seal Battle and Season 2

The update marks the end of Regular Season 1 and the launch of Regular Season 2 for Battlegrounds. The new "Seal Battle: Frostbite Fortress" mode tasks two 12-player teams with transporting relics to the opposing team's altar. The first team to successfully seal two relics claims victory. Matches are set for 10 minutes, with a 5-minute overtime period if necessary.

To keep the competitive scene fresh, the active mode will now rotate based on the day of the week:

  • Sunday – Tuesday: Conquest (Giant's City / Floating Elf Garden)
  • Wednesday – Saturday: Seal Battle (Frostbite Fortress)

Balance Adjustments

Developer adjustments in this patch focus on preventing excessive shield stacking and damage accumulation. Key changes include:

  • Spear: A new "Weaken: Shock" effect has been added, allowing critical hits from specific skills to build stacks that culminate in a high-damage detonation.
  • Gauntlets: Eclipse of Blood now provides additional Bonus Damage and Damage Reduction per skill level.
  • Daggers: Inject Venom and Lightning Infusion have been modified to no longer consume each other's stacks, and Foretold Agony now grants a 15% chance to activate Venomous Edge, which ignores target Defense and Evasion.
  • Sword and Shield: Skill Core: Victory Strike now adds a 5% damage amplification to specific aggressive skills.

Economy and Crafting Improvements

The update significantly eases the burden of equipment growth. The number of Unlockstones required for trait unlocking has been halved, and costs for Trait Resonance Stone crafting have been slashed from 100,000 to 20,000 Sollant. Players who spent materials or Sollant prior to the update will receive refunds via in-game mail within 48 hours of the patch launch.

Additionally, the sources for acquiring Seal Keys and Skill Cores have been expanded. Players can now purchase one Seal Key per week from the Honor Coin Shop and find select Skill Cores by spending Abyss Points in the Nix region.

Quality of Life Updates

Several convenience features have been added to streamline daily play, including:

  • Material Transmutation: Improved filters allow players to exclude items with unlocked traits and set level caps for batch processing.
  • Guild Distribution: A new level threshold option ensures more control over how items are distributed among members.
  • Traversal: New portals have been added to Herba Village for faster travel to Breezeline Station, Abundance Street, and Hammer Clang Street.
  • Character Info: Players can now see their average equipment level directly in the character window.
