Players looking to carry their late-game progression into a fresh run of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced have reason to be optimistic. Game director Richard Knight has officially confirmed that a New Game Plus mode is currently in production and stands as a high priority for future updates.
In a recent interview with YouTuber JorRaptor, Knight addressed the highly requested feature directly. While he stopped short of providing a launch window, he emphasized that the team is actively building the mode, identifying it as a “natural” addition to the Resynced experience.
Why New Game Plus Is Taking Time
Knight noted that the team is looking toward the implementation of New Game Plus in Assassin's Creed Shadows as a reference point, crediting associate game director Simon Lemay-Comtois for doing the “hard work” on that version. However, he cautioned that the process for Black Flag Resynced is not a simple copy-paste job.
"Our games are not exactly the same. We have different challenges in terms of how that works. We can't skip to the hideout, necessarily. But we're looking into it," Knight explained.
Beyond the technical hurdles, the team is still evaluating whether the mode will include additional rewards, such as new items. Knight pointed out that any new gear requires significant production time, including modeling and cloth simulation, meaning the feature is still in the early design phase.
A Focus on "Stomping" Foes
For those wondering what the experience will feel like, Knight highlighted the core appeal of the mode: the ability to use late-game power against early-game enemies. While the team is still ironing out the specific balance and mechanics, Knight reiterated that the feature is at the “top of the list” of things they want to deliver to the community.
As of now, there is no official timeline for when this update will arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series S/X. For now, the developers are focusing on the foundational work required to ensure the mode functions correctly within the game’s unique structure.
