Capcom is set to adjust its digital strategy for Monster Hunter Wilds, announcing both a permanent price reduction for the base game and a total overhaul of its available digital bundles.

Starting August 4, 2026, the base game—which currently retails for $69.99/£64.99 on the PlayStation Store—will receive a permanent price cut. While Capcom has not yet specified the exact new price point, players interested in jumping into the title may want to wait until the update goes live in a few weeks.

Streamlined Digital Offerings

In addition to the lower entry price, the publisher is consolidating its digital storefront options. On August 3, 2026, the current Deluxe and Premium Deluxe editions, as well as the existing Cosmetic DLC Pass, will be discontinued. These will be replaced by a new, simplified set of SKUs:

  • Gold Edition: Includes the base game and all DLC released to date.
  • Cosmetic DLC Collection: A complete bundle containing all available DLC packs.
  • Extras Cosmetic DLC Pack: Features select paid cosmetic DLC previously sold only as standalone items.

Capcom confirmed that the new Extras Cosmetic DLC Pack contains specific items that were previously only available as individual, standalone purchases. The move appears designed to simplify the purchasing process for newcomers looking to catch up on content.

Preparation for 'Ascendance' Expansion

This restructuring arrives ahead of the launch of Ascendance, the massive expansion revealed at last month's Summer Game Fest. While the expansion is not scheduled for release until 2027, the shift in pricing and digital bundles is likely intended to encourage a wider audience to experience the base game before the expansion introduces new changes to the gameplay loop.
