Nvidia has officially added Mozilla Firefox to its list of supported browsers for GeForce Now. The update follows months of collaboration between the two companies to ensure the browser meets the performance standards required for the cloud gaming service.
Expanding Cloud Gaming Access
Previously, GeForce Now browser support was limited to Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Opera. With the addition of Firefox, users now have another option for streaming their library of over 2,000 titles without needing to install the dedicated desktop client.
Andrew Fear, director of GeForce Now, noted that the integration was designed to deliver the performance players expect from the service. Mozilla categorized the development as one of the web's more rigorous engineering tests, confirming that the new support is the result of significant technical work to bring the browser up to spec for high-demand gaming.
What This Means for Players
For players considering cloud-based gaming as an alternative to hardware upgrades, this update removes a specific browser barrier. While the service remains available via dedicated apps and other browsers, the inclusion of Firefox provides a wider range of choices for those who prefer the open-source browser for their daily PC tasks.
