Developer Bloom & Gloom has showcased a complete delivery run in Into the Wind, offering an in-depth look at the action-adventure delivery sim's core gameplay loop. Narrated by co-founder and game director Robin Hjelte, the latest video highlights how players step into the role of a local courier in their uncle Umberto's stead.

Quick Facts

  • Developer: Bloom & Gloom Games
  • Platform: PC (via Proton/Wine support)
  • Core Mechanic: Deliver parcels while managing vehicle inertia, cargo weight, and fuel consumption.

Gameplay and World Mechanics

During deliveries around the Studio Ghibli-inspired Adriatic archipelago of Santa Rosa, players must carefully plan routes and choose contracts. Journeys require contending with changing weather, challenging terrain, and wayward air pirates. Vehicle handling is affected by factors such as shortcuts, weather, and landings.

As couriers complete jobs, they earn resources to upgrade Ermes, their sentient motorcycle-plane companion. These customisations expand capabilities and allow players to tackle tougher deliveries across the islands.

Playtest and Release Plans

While an official full release date has not been announced, Bloom & Gloom is preparing for an Early Access launch. Game Director Robin Hjelte noted that the team is looking forward to player feedback as development continues. A playtest is currently open for sign-ups on Steam for players wanting to try out the game.
