The latest HELLDIVERS 2 update, titled Devoid of Liberty, is live now across PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox, introducing a new faction front, altered planetary biomes, and expanded security access. Developer content brings players directly into the haunted abyss known as the Void to push back the expanding Illuminate presence.
Quick Facts
- Platforms: PS5, PC, and Xbox
- New Faction & Location: Illuminate forces and the Void
- Rank Cap Expansion: Up to 300 ranks of security access and privileges
- New Support: SEAF platoons deploy via dropships for medical support and morale boosts
New Missions and Objectives
Venturing into the Void alters planetary environments permanently, with mutation severity increasing closer to the center of the abyss. Players tackling these reconnaissance missions face fresh objectives, including destroying Illuminate spires and gateways, completing data reconnaissance, and infiltrating Illuminate structures.
Secondary objectives add tasks like eradicating Void mutations and extracting research materials. Squads can also open secondary extraction zones to evacuate the map more quickly.
New Illuminate Threats
The update introduces two primary mutated organism types spawned from the Illuminate:
- The Wretch: A nimble enemy designed to move fast, evade counter-attacks, and overwhelm weaker fighters.
- The Crusher: A heavily armored unit capable of dealing and absorbing significant damage that requires players to wear it down before it regenerates.
SEAF Support and Rank Upgrades
To assist operations, players can now unlock up to 300 ranks of security access along with new rank titles. Additionally, summoned SEAF platoons arrive on dropships to fight alongside squads, supply stims, and accept morale-boosting interactions such as salutes, handshakes, and hugs.
For dedicated players, the Helldivers 2 Super Merch store is also available across preferred platforms, featuring merchandise unlocked through in-game achievements.
