CD Projekt Red has announced an official remastered version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026. Set for release on September 29, 2026, for PC and consoles, the project brings substantial upgrades to the 2015 RPG.
Quick Facts
- Release Date: September 29, 2026
- Platforms: PC and consoles
- Key Collaborator: Modder HalkHogan (The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen Edition)
A notable aspect of the upcoming release is the integration of community work. Modder HalkHogan confirmed via a post on Nexus Mods that he is cooperating directly with CD Projekt Red. His HD Reworked Project (HDRP) will be officially built into the game, meaning the standalone mod will no longer be needed.
According to the developer and the modder, almost all in-game characters, monsters, animals, vegetation, armors, and equipment for Geralt and Roach—alongside a large portion of the environment—have been reworked for the remaster. Additionally, CD Projekt Red has tweaked the combat system to make it smoother and more precise.
