Nintendo’s latest eShop update brings a heavy hitter lineup for RPG fans, headlined by the arrival of Digimon Story Time Stranger and Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

Digimon Story Time Stranger Arrives

The seventh entry in the Story series, Digimon Story Time Stranger, officially hits the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on July 10. The game pits players against a crisis where both the human and Digital worlds are on the verge of ruin. Gameplay focuses on strategic, turn-based combat involving over 450 Digimon, all featuring non-linear evolution paths. Those playing on the Switch 2 will have the added benefit of selecting their preferred graphics mode. A demo is currently available on the eShop for those looking to jump in early.

Also joining the library today is Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok. This action RPG brings over 20 playable characters to the Sky Realm, allowing for local or online multiplayer sessions for up to four players. While the base game originally debuted in 2024, the "Endless Ragnarok" portion is entirely new, adding expanded story content, additional characters, and crossplay functionality to the experience. A demo is also available for players to sample the action before purchasing.

New Additions to Nintendo Switch Online

Retro gaming enthusiasts have a busy week, as four classic titles have been added to the Nintendo Switch Online service:

  • Fortified Zone (Game Boy): A 1991 action shooter featuring two characters and a "SOUND BOY" mode to listen to the soundtrack.
  • Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (Game Boy): Wario’s first solo adventure, introducing his signature shoulder barge and treasure-hunting mechanics.
  • The Sword of Hope II (Game Boy): A 1996 RPG where players take on the role of Prince Theo to solve puzzles and uncover the truth behind a kingdom-threatening mystery.
  • Dr. Mario & Puzzle League (Game Boy Advance): A two-in-one puzzle collection originally released in 2005, now available for Expansion Pack members.

Additional Updates and Events

Beyond the new game releases, Nintendo has rolled out several limited-time activities. A new Splatfest for Splatoon 3 featuring the "Splatoon Raiders" runs from July 10 at 5 p.m. PT to July 12 at 5 p.m. PT. Additionally, the Donkey Kong Bananza DLC event "Elephant Bananza Stampede" begins July 14, and fans can enter the My Nintendo Star Fox Fan Bundle sweepstakes for a chance to win branded merchandise.

For those looking to expand their libraries, the eShop is currently host to a long list of new titles, including Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit (launching July 15), Denshattack!, and the Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 1+2 Dual Collection.
