Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. has confirmed that the upcoming Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero arrives on July 30, 2026. Revealed alongside a new producer video from Jun Furutani, the expansion brings a massive roster addition and a dedicated single-player progression system to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Quick Facts

  • Release Date: July 30, 2026
  • Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam (base game also available on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2)
  • New Playable Characters: 33 fighters spanning Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, and Dragon Ball GT
  • New Content: Limit Breaker Journey solo mode, 4 Episode Battles, Extra Battles, and 4 new stages

Limit Breaker Journey Solo Mode

The centerpiece of the paid downloadable content is Limit Breaker Journey, a solo mode where players select a favorite character and build them up across a map-based campaign. Each run asks players to balance movement against a stamina system, which consumes stamina for traversal while reducing starting health during actual bouts.

Enemies on the map are labeled with an "SP" rating indicating their strength. Facing tougher foes rewards players with more experience points. Special events dotted across the map let participants meet specific characters, acquire stat-boosting Battle Art, and train for extra experience. As players raise their SP rating, they earn allocation points across six distinct character parameters. Crucially, fighters enhanced in this solo mode carry their upgraded stats directly into Player Matches and Offline Battles.

New Free Battle Mechanics and Stages

Releasing on the same day as the DLC, a free game update introduces fresh battle mechanics accessible to all players regardless of whether they purchase the expansion.

The update adds Sparking! Boost, which spends a larger amount of Skill Stock to dramatically elevate attack power for one decisive offensive rush, followed by temporarily reduced stats once the effect wears off. Also included is Chain Blast, allowing players to follow up after sending an opponent flying by tagging in a reserve ally to continue the assault with a Blast attack for heavy damage.

Alongside these mechanical additions, the free update delivers three new variations of existing stages, complementing the four brand-new stages bundled into the Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC.
