Publisher Konami, alongside developers Evil Empire and Motion Twin, have confirmed that Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse will arrive on the Nintendo Switch on October 15, 2026. The title will launch on the platform simultaneously with the previously announced versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Story and Setting
Set in 1499, the game takes place in a version of Paris consumed by flames as mysterious, monstrous creatures emerge from the shadows. Players take on the roles of Trevor Belmont—the hero who previously defeated Dracula—and his daughter, Rose Belmont. Armed with the iconic Vampire Killer whip, the duo must investigate the dark conspiracy unfolding beneath the city to prevent further destruction.
Gameplay Mechanics
The developers have highlighted several core systems designed for the game's fast-paced combat:
- Whip Action: The game features refined whip mechanics, allowing players to use the weapon for traversal, effectively moving like a trapeze artist, or for aggressive combat maneuvers.
- Arcana System: After defeating legendary bosses—including Death, Medusa, Carmilla, and the newcomer Joan of Arc—players can seal their essences into Rose’s tarot cards. These cards, known as Arcana, allow players to cast spells and execute unique special actions.
- Customization: Players can tailor their combat style by utilizing weapons across seven distinct categories and equipping Relics that provide offensive and defensive bonuses.
The game aims to present a fresh look at the series, blending familiar elements from classic Castlevania titles with new Gothic-inspired visuals and map designs.
