Publisher Imperfect Games and developer Lunarium Game Studio have announced that their upcoming hand-drawn isometric action RPG, Lunarium, will launch for PC via Steam on July 29, 2026. The title will be available for purchase at a price of $17.99 / €17.99 / £15.99.

According to Lunarium Game Studio director Jixiang, the title is designed to balance narrative depth with challenging combat mechanics. "Players will finally be able to embark on this memorable journey and unfold the intertwined fates of Ave and Lune on July 29!" Jixiang said in the official announcement.
Gameplay and Combat Mechanics
Set in a crumbling world, Lunarium follows the journey of two protagonists: the swordmaster Ave and the sorceress Lune. Combat emphasizes reaction-based mechanics, requiring players to utilize perfectly-timed parries and dodges to neutralize enemy attacks. Players can also build up Resonance Points during battles, which can then be used to weaken foes and create synergy between the two characters' abilities.
Customization plays a role in progression through the use of charms called "Embroideries." These items provide passive bonuses that can be used to shift the momentum in combat. Additionally, players can gather materials to upgrade equipment within the "Temple," a sanctuary space that serves as a break from the game's hostile environments.
Exploration and Narrative
The game features hand-drawn environments, including a forgotten forest, a ruined castle, and a dreamlike archipelago. Players will navigate these areas to overcome obstacles, defeat mutated creatures and ancient golems, and challenge bosses to unlock new abilities in the characters' skill trees.
The story explores themes of memory, self, and meaning, tasking players with discovering the origins of the two leads. The game features two distinct endings, which are tied to the choices made during the journey and the discovery of the truth behind the protagonists' converging paths.
