Originally released by Konami in 1987, Combat School tasks players with surviving a series of intense military training exercises, including shooting and combat trials, under a demanding instructor. To succeed, players must complete these challenges to reach graduation.

The Arcade Archives 2 series—releasing for newer hardware platforms—introduces a new Time Attack Mode, which focuses on completion speed rather than score. These versions also include support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) to provide a display experience closer to the original arcade hardware. The collection retains the standard Original Mode, Hi Score Mode, and Caravan Mode found in previous Arcade Archives entries.
