Developer Digital Sun and publisher 11 bit studios have confirmed that Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault will exit early access and launch its 1.0 version on September 2, 2026. The sequel, which has been in early access since late last year, brings the primary narrative to a close with the introduction of the seventh and final dungeon, the titular Endless Vault.

Quick Facts

  • Release Date: September 2, 2026
  • Platform: PC (Steam)
  • Limited Offer: The original Moonlighter is free to claim on Steam until August 9, 2026.
  • Demo: Available now on the Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault Steam page.

New Content and Features

The 1.0 release introduces several gameplay additions, including new tools for the player's arsenal. Players will gain access to a short sword that scales in strength with momentum, alongside gauntlets designed to bolster attack power. The shop itself receives an upgrade, allowing for expansion up to level five and the addition of extra Bloblet slots for companions.

For players seeking a higher degree of difficulty, the full release adds a hardcore mode. In this mode, falling in a dungeon results in the loss of all collected relics, mirroring the stakes found in the original title. Additionally, the update includes the Infinite Endless Vault, a postgame challenge that features escalating, gold-filled combat runs.
