Pokimane has officially withdrawn from her role as a professor for the upcoming 2026 session of Kai Cenat’s Streamer University 2. The content creator stepped back from the event to focus on her family following the death of her grandfather.
Quick Facts
- Event: Streamer University 2
- Start Date: July 15, 2026
- Status: Pokimane has withdrawn; Maya Higa has also pulled out of the event.
Pokimane shared the news on X, where she apologized to those planning to attend and offered well wishes to the community. In a subsequent TikTok video, she opened up about the emotional toll of grieving while living as an immigrant far from her extended family.
"We grew up very, very far from my grandparents and I would really only see them like once every two years," she explained. "When you grow up far away from your family, you have this constant sense of guilt like, should I be visiting more?"
The news arrived during what had been a significant week for the creator, who was in Paris for Couture Week. She noted that she had been accepted into the Streamer University program only an hour before receiving the news of her grandfather's passing. Reflecting on the timing, she shared that she often feels a sense of anxiety regarding success, noting, "Throughout my whole life it has felt like I cannot have high highs without very low lows almost at the same time."
Streamer University 2 is still scheduled to move forward on July 15. The remaining professor lineup includes Ludwig, Duke Dennis, Agent00, Cinna, TheSushiDragon, Lizzo, and Kaiya Cenat. With the departures of both Pokimane and Maya Higa, there are currently two vacant spots on the roster.
The announcement follows a major debut for the project, with Kai Cenat’s previous stream revealing the 2026 cohort drawing over one million viewers across Twitch and YouTube.
