Corsair has acquired all assets belonging to Melbourne-based simulator cockpit manufacturer Trak Racer. The deal merges Trak Racer's physical hardware—including tubular and aluminum-profile cockpits, racing seats, and motion systems—with Corsair's existing Fanatec portfolio of electronic racing controls like wheelbases and steering wheels.

Hardware Stack and Flight Simulation

Prior to the purchase, Corsair's Fanatec division focused primarily on electronics such as wheelbases and steering wheels, requiring customers to source physical cockpits separately. Trak Racer, founded in 2008, supplies tubular and aluminum-profile cockpits and racing seats.

Beyond motorsport simulation, the acquisition includes the TR550 Flight Simulator platform, giving Corsair an established foothold in flight simulation hardware. Both sim racing and flight simulation share core technology, including structural engineering, precision controls, haptic feedback systems, and VR integration.

Licensing Deals and Motorsport Partnerships

The deal transfers several existing licensing agreements and partnerships to Corsair. Trak Racer holds licensing agreements with Mattel for Matchbox and Hot Wheels-branded simulation products, which are slated to launch next year in 2027. An existing agreement with Porsche will also be expanded.

In motorsport, Trak Racer maintains official partnerships with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team and BWT Alpine Formula One Team. Combined with Fanatec's long-standing F1 relationships, the move broadens the company's retail and marketing presence.

Executive Perspective

Corsair CEO Thi La stated that the acquisition scales the company's Gamer and Creator Peripherals segment into a larger addressable market with margin expansion opportunities. Trak Racer founder Sten noted that joining Corsair and Fanatec provides the infrastructure to reach more simulation enthusiasts globally.

Corsair has not yet provided a specific timeline for when integrated hardware bundles combining Fanatec electronics and Trak Racer cockpits will reach retail shelves.
