Atari and Activision have announced a partnership to release 39 classic titles from the Atari 2600 era on physical, functional cartridges. These rereleases are compatible with original Atari 2600 hardware, as well as the modern Atari 2600+ and Atari 7800+ consoles.

Collection Breakdown

The rereleases are divided into individual standard cartridges and four distinct Deluxe Box Sets, each containing nine to ten games:

  • Treasure Collection (November 2026): Includes Pitfall!, River Raid, Megamania, Chopper Command, and Grand Prix.
  • Speed Collection (Spring 2027): Includes Enduro, HERO, The Activision Decathlon, and Laser Blast.
  • Secrets Collection (Summer 2027): Includes Kaboom!, Keystone Kapers, Private Eye, and Starmaster.
  • Victory Collection (Fall 2027): Includes Pitfall II: Lost Caverns, River Raid II, Pressure Cooker, and Beamrider.

While a dozen games will be sold as individual Standard Edition cartridges starting in November, titles such as The Activision Decathlon and Pitfall 2: Lost Caverns are scheduled to ship at a later date. Collectors opting for the $999.96 Complete Collection will receive all four box sets along with an additional, currently unannounced collector's item.
