Developer Arc System Works has released a substantial update for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, targeting performance optimizations and critical bug fixes across both PlayStation 5 and PC versions. The patch aims to address long-standing player reports regarding online stability and erratic menu settings.
Key Performance and Matchmaking Adjustments
For PC players, the update specifically targets heavy processing loads that previously occurred during matches. Across all platforms, the studio has implemented adjustments to both ranked and casual matchmaking to reduce wait times.
Gameplay and Character Fixes
The update includes a wide array of gameplay balancing and bug corrections:
- Dash Inputs: Dash and backdash inputs (←← and →→) now require passing through the neutral position to execute.
- Character Specifics: Fixes were applied to Peni Parker’s assist visibility, Deadpool’s Level Up Mission 5, and Green Goblin’s glider mission requirements.
- Combat Logic: Resolved issues involving unintended follow-up attacks after a Champion’s Cosmic Smash and incorrect cooldown behavior for assists after member changes.
- Camera: Fixed camera positioning errors during Carnage’s Guillotine Axe and Tōkon Finish sequences.
Platform-Specific Notes
PS5 players should see a resolution to the issue where settings—including online battle, lobby avatar, and team building configurations—would reset upon restarting the game. Additionally, an issue causing automatic match forfeits has been addressed.
For new PS5 players experiencing an initial boot loop between the game logo and language selection, the developer advises waiting for the full game download to complete, as a permanent fix is planned for a future update.
Note for all players: Due to changes in the replay functionality, any replay data saved prior to this patch will no longer be viewable. PC users are encouraged to run the shader warm-up process before playing to ensure the best performance.
