Developer Undercoders has released a free update for Denshattack on PlayStation 5, adding a new tier of difficulty for the game's 65 levels. Players can now earn platinum medals, which are granted based on high scores rather than time-based requirements or the completion of specific Dares.

Platinum Medal Requirements

The update tracks your performance retroactively. If you have already achieved a score high enough to qualify for a platinum medal, the game will automatically register it when you boot it up post-update. Unlike gold medals, the game does not provide specific score targets for platinum, requiring players to push for their best possible results to unlock them.

Unlockable Rewards

For players who successfully earn a platinum medal on every one of the game's 65 stages, a new, exclusive train becomes available. This functions similarly to the reward for achieving gold status across the entire game.

Cutscene Theater Added

The update also introduces a quality-of-life feature for viewing the game's story sequences. You can now access a cutscene theater directly from the map screen:

  • Zoom out on the map screen.
  • Locate the clapboard icon on the left side of the screen.
  • Press the touch pad to open the menu and select your desired cutscene.
