Survival shooter Into the Radius 2 is officially making the jump to PlayStation VR2. Developer CM Immersive confirmed that the tactical VR sequel arrives on Sony's headset on September 24, bringing an overhauled approach to gear maintenance, loadout customization, and environmental hazards.

Quick Facts

  • Platform: PlayStation VR2
  • Release Date: September 24, 2026
  • Developer: CM Immersive
  • Modes: Single-player campaign at launch, with 2-player co-op arriving via a free update in Q4 2026.

Hardware Integration and PS VR2 Features

CM Immersive built this version to leverage PS VR2 hardware capabilities directly. The game supports native 90FPS performance paired with eye-tracked foveated rendering to maintain visual clarity across dense fog and distant anomalies. Controller adaptive triggers deliver distinct resistance based on weapon actions, while headset and controller haptics translate anomaly pulses and close-quarter impacts. Spatial 3D audio allows players to pinpoint nearby hazards and flanking enemies.

Granular Loadouts and Weapon Maintenance

Survival inside the Pechorsk Anomaly requires strict preparation. The sequel introduces a physical loadout system where players configure chest rigs, armor vests, and backpacks down to the exact placement of pouches and holsters. Weapon mechanics demand similar attention to detail: players can swap barrels, stocks, optics, grips, and magazines, as well as customize gear appearance using over 15 solid colors and 10 camo patterns.

Maintenance tracks wear and dirtiness independently across every modular gun component. Neglecting cleaning using spray and brushes leads directly to weapon jams during active runs.

Expanded Threats

The Pechorsk Anomaly contains smarter enemy entities, including Mimics that use cover and flanking maneuvers, rushing Fragments, invisible Phantoms, and agile Creeps. Environmental hazards include shock-emitting anomalies, light-swallowing zones, and distortion fields that require anti-distortion headgear to prevent steady health drain. Periodic Tides also sweep through the area, resetting enemy placements and loot spawns.
