The upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Revelation features a streamlined job system that limits each playable character to just four defined roles. Following the initial reveal of the game's mechanics in June, director Naoki Hamaguchi clarified details regarding the customization system in an interview with GamesRadar.

The system, officially named FITS (Function Integrated Tactical Suitwear), provides four different outfits for characters. Each outfit delivers a specific combat role, such as transforming Tifa into a magic-wielding sorceress as demonstrated in earlier footage. Hamaguchi noted that creating dozens of distinct jobs for every character proved 'insanely difficult' given the demands of modern 3D game development, unique outfits, animations, and action-oriented balance.

While the exact breakdown of whether all characters share the same four jobs or possess unique sets remains unconfirmed, the setup aims to keep party customization accessible without overcomplicating the combat system. Square Enix plans to release Final Fantasy 7 Revelation for PlayStation 5 in Spring 2027.
