Game Freak has released the first major update for Beast of Reincarnation on PlayStation 5. The patch, which is available to download and install now, targets several technical and quality-of-life complaints raised following the game's launch last week.

Confirmed Changes

The update introduces a variety of mechanical and visual improvements, including:

  • Camera Adjustments: Tweaks to camera behavior both in and out of combat, with further refinements planned for future updates.
  • Text Scaling: Adjustments to text size throughout the game to improve readability.
  • Performance Mode: Cinematic cutscenes now default to Performance mode instead of the previous 24fps Cinematic setting. Players can still manually revert to Cinematic mode in the settings.
  • Control Mapping: Players can now remap the "interact" button.
  • Gameplay Balance: Adjusted boss balance across all difficulty levels and enemy encounter balance specifically for Normal difficulty. The parry window has also been adjusted for when Emma takes damage.
  • Story Pacing: Affinity-building conversations are now limited to once per day.

Bug Fixes and Stability

The patch also resolves several bugs that affected player progression and settings. Notably, a bug causing the "interact" button to incorrectly prioritize "rest until morning" when mapped to Square or X has been fixed. Other fixes address an issue where the 6th golem in Subcity 01 was difficult to locate, an interaction bug when canceling Bloom Arts, and issues where upscaling and V-Sync settings would reset or behave incorrectly.

Game Freak has confirmed that this is the first of several planned updates and intends to provide further improvements to camera handling, cutscene experiences, and text size in the coming months.
