How Wordless Forest Gameplay Works
Shot entirely by Cagrici while hiking through the wilderness and dense forests of four different cities across Turkey over 40 days, the project functions as both a live-action film and an interactive experience. The story is completely dialogue-free, following a protagonist who wakes up with a head injury and scrambled memories, trying to navigate the wilds and reach a distant firewatch tower.
Players make binary, either/or decisions for the survivor at key points along the journey. Choices include whether to eat potentially unsafe food found at an abandoned campsite, whether to enter a dark cave for shelter, and whether to follow a missing dog's footprints deeper into the wilderness or prioritize reaching safety.
What Early Steam Reviews Say
Early reviews on Steam are mixed. A playthrough runs for approximately 45 minutes, featuring sparse interactivity where choices dictate the direction of the narrative. While some players may view the title closer to a short interactive movie than a traditional game, the production involves authentic wilderness survival footage, including the developer climbing cliffs, exploring caves, and consuming raw fish during filming.
