Quick Facts
- Developer: MarxMustermann
- Publisher: Ivy Juice
- Platforms: Linux, Windows (Steam)
- Release Date: TBD
Nine Years of Development
Built by a single developer over nine years, OfMiceAndMechs draws inspiration from titles like Dwarf Fortress and RimWorld. Players wake up in a dark open world filled with functioning machinery, where they must scavenge for scrap, convert raw junk into steel, and link workshops into long production chains.
The gameplay loop features permanent character death, though runs can continue through AI workers who maintain base operations. Players must manage workshop automation, defend against waves of attacks with walls and traps, explore eight different dungeons, and collect seven glass hearts to claim the throne.
Platform Availability
Native Linux support is confirmed from the start, allowing players to wishlist the game on both Linux and Windows through Steam. However, developer MarxMustermann and publisher Ivy Juice have not yet shared hardware test data, Vulkan details, or confirmation regarding Steam Deck verification.
