CD Projekt Red has announced that The Witcher 4 is currently targeting a 2028 release window. Joint CEO Michał Nowakowski shared the update in a video message to fans, offering a look at the scope of the upcoming RPG alongside development details.

Development Scope and Gamescom Absence

While the studio prepares to showcase The Witcher 3's new expansion, Songs of the Past, at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25, Nowakowski confirmed that The Witcher 4 will skip the event entirely.

According to Nowakowski, more than 500 developers are currently working on the project at CD Projekt Red HQ. The team describes the title as its biggest and most ambitious game to date, featuring a large open world, action-packed gameplay, and an impactful story intended to anchor the studio's brand new saga.

Exact dates and hands-on availability remain unannounced as the studio continues production.
