The classic 16-bit JRPG Terranigma is officially returning to modern gaming. Publisher Clear River Games confirmed that the title, originally released for the SNES in 1996, will arrive on PC and consoles in early 2027.
Modern Release Details
For players who missed the original release, Terranigma follows the story of a boy named Ark and his journey to resurrect the Earth through various stages of evolution. The upcoming release is intended to bring the title to a wider audience, as it has remained largely inaccessible in the West for over thirty years.
Original character artist Kamui Fujiwara is actively involved in the project. Fujiwara is providing new key art and in-game designs, while also offering feedback on the production to ensure the atmosphere of the original world is preserved for current hardware.
