If you have been looking for an excuse to get lost in a psychedelic trance, today is the day. Developer Quicktequila and publisher Edglrd have officially brought their hypnotic first-person shooter, Tamashika, to Xbox Game Pass. The title, which launched on April 10, 2026, is now accessible to subscribers across Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Alongside the Game Pass debut, the team has pushed a significant content update across all platforms, including PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. This patch aims to expand the game’s signature flow-state mechanics while offering players more ways to chase high scores.

New Ways to Play

The headline addition is the new Accelerate Mode. Designed to push the limits of player attention, this mode drops you into an endless loop where the speed increases to create a deeper, more hypnotic rhythm. For those sticking to the core experience, Transcend Mode has received a substantial expansion with over 50 new segments. These areas introduce fresh mechanics like jumpads and speed-boosting pills that allow for more fluid, grippy movement across the map.

Perhaps the most refreshing change is the introduction of “Village” environments. Moving away from the game’s trademark claustrophobic, shifting corridors, these open-air sections provide a new tactical backdrop for shootouts against hidden enemies.

Time Travel and Quality of Life

Perfectionists now have a new tool in their arsenal: the Time Travel mechanic. By collecting specific items during play, you can now revisit previous levels to review your performance and optimize your scores. The game’s new Calendar Menu tracks these items, allowing players to store up to 200 of them to facilitate their time-traveling sessions.

The update also addresses accessibility and technical performance:

  • Visual Options: A new 15µg dosage setting is available for players seeking maximum visual fidelity, while lower settings allow for reduced effects and muted colors for those who prefer a different aesthetic.
  • Technical Upgrades: PlayStation 5 players can now enjoy 120Hz support. The update also includes more physically accurate screenshake textures and refined menus.
  • Global Reach: New language support has been added for Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Ukrainian, Polish, and Russian.
  • Audio: A new track, “Soul Bird,” has been added to the Vibes Menu for sampling.

For those who prefer a specific challenge, the developer has also instituted “Shuriken Saturdays,” dedicated to the game’s blade-focused sections. With these additions, Quicktequila continues to build on the foundation set by his previous work on the Lovely Planet series, further cementing Tamashika as a distinct entry in the speedrunning FPS space.
