What to Expect from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Multiplayer
While the studio is primarily known for single-player experiences, developers are experimenting with what is possible for the upcoming free multiplayer mode. GSC Game World stated they are avoiding copied mechanics or standard industry formats, aiming instead to build something tailored to players who spend thousands of hours in the game.
Studio leadership specified that the mode will not utilize a session-based format comparable to Counter-Strike. An official announcement detailing the multiplayer structure is expected soon, though developers note that community expectations for the mode vary widely.
Second DLC Storytelling Approach
Alongside multiplayer development, the team is actively working on the game's second DLC. Ievgen Grygorovych indicated that the expansion will feature a different style of storytelling and experience than the Cost of Hope expansion, designed to surprise players in an unexpected way.
