Rockstar's Statement on the Leaks
In a post shared via social media, Rockstar Games addressed the community regarding the leaked footage. "It would be an understatement to say that having videos of Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay leak in this way has been heartbreaking for our team, and this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time," the studio wrote.
The developer also acknowledged that development has taken longer than anticipated, noting that the team is "nearly there" on finishing the project. Rockstar expressed gratitude to community members who reached out with messages of support following the incident, stating that those words meant a great deal to the team.
When to Watch the Official Gameplay Reveal
Players hoping to see official footage can catch the extended look when it airs exclusively via Netflix on Thursday, August 27 at 12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm BST / 9pm CEST. For those without a Netflix subscription, the showcase will be made available to watch via the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel six hours later.
The full game is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. Rockstar has not yet provided official word regarding whether or when the title will come to PC.
