Rockstar Games has put out a statement publicly acknowledging the ongoing Grand Theft Auto VI leaks for the first time. While parent company Take-Two has already started hunting down the leaker, the studio had remained silent on public-facing communication until now.

"We know that many of you have been waiting to hear from us regarding the events of the past week," Rockstar's official statement begins. "It would be an understatement to say that having videos of Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leak this way has been heartbreaking for our team, and this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time."
The studio also apologized for how long it has taken to share official details and gameplay with the community. Despite the leaks impacting the intended experience, Rockstar hopes players will wait to experience the game for themselves when it launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X.
When Can Players See Official Gameplay?
An official "extended look" at GTA 6 is scheduled to premiere on Netflix, with a YouTube release following six hours afterward. Rockstar confirmed that the game itself remains on schedule for its November 19, 2026 release date.
