Quick Facts
- Platform: PC
- Release Date: August 25, 2026
- Focus: Gameplay improvements and community feedback following the player character update.
Restricted Map Variants
To facilitate faster investigations, the update adds restricted versions of three existing maps: Prison, Brownstone High School, and Point Hope. These function similarly to the Sunny Meadows Restricted location by blocking off areas to create smaller play spaces. Point Hope Restricted will grant access up to the third floor, while the other two locations will feature multiple variants that cycle randomly during contracts.
Journal and Gameplay Changes
Several features are being implemented to improve information sharing and gameplay clarity:
- Shared Journal Data: Evidence and ghost types logged by any teammate will now appear in your own journal, eliminating the need to ask other players for their findings.
- Media Duplicate Indicators: You will no longer need to check the journal to see if you have already captured specific media. Equipment will display visual cues—such as yellow LEDs on Tier I cameras or faded overlays on higher tiers—when a duplicate is detected.
- Ghost Type Selection: Custom matches now allow players to select the specific ghost type they wish to encounter, providing a way to practice identifying entity-specific behaviors.
- Items We’ve Found: The journal’s “Keys” section has been renamed and expanded to track key assets found around the map, including bones and seasonal event items.
