Microsoft has increased hardware prices for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S across Europe and the UK, pushing the cost of current-generation hardware up by hundreds of euros and pounds.

As a result of these changes, reflected on the Microsoft Germany website and spotted via ResetEra, the 1TB model of the Xbox Series S now carries a higher price tag than the 1TB Xbox Series X console used to cost prior to the adjustment.
Hardware Revenue and Memory Costs
The price hikes follow a previously reported decline in hardware revenue. Microsoft's latest earnings call revealed that Xbox hardware revenue decreased by 29%, driven by lower console sales volume. Additionally, Microsoft began sunsetting the 2TB model in June due to component costs.
While Microsoft previously confirmed $100–$150 price increases in the US, the European and UK markets have faced steeper rises. Industry analysts point to a wider memory crisis fueled by AI growth, with major manufacturers warning of severe memory supply constraints that could continue to affect future hardware pricing cycles.
