Sega has confirmed the next free character update for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, bringing Axel from the Crazy Taxi series to the roster. This update follows the recent addition of "Classic Sonic" to the game.

Players can access Axel during his specific festival window starting this week. Looking further ahead, Sega has scheduled Amigo, known from the Samba De Amigo series, as the next free character update for September 2026.
In addition to these free character drops, Sega is rolling out a second Season Pass. This pass consists of six new DLC packs. The content roadmap for the pass kicks off with collaborations featuring Godzilla and Evangelion.
The game has seen a consistent stream of additions recently. Earlier in August, paid character content featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was released. Furthermore, the development team has announced that Avatar Legends DLC is slated to arrive in October 2026.
